NCCC Supermarket, NCCC Cares and Unilever Philippines hold fellowship lunch with Bahay Pag-Asa
A sumptuous meal comprising of staple all-time favorite Filipino dishes was prepared by Unilever Philippines along with NCCC Supermarket and NCCC Cares in time for the commemoration of the Health and Nutrition Month.
The event, held last July 18 accommodated over 115 beneficiaries and 25 staff of the Davao City Children's Village – Bahay Pag-Asa located at Brgy. Bago Oshiro, Mintal, Tugbok Dist., Davao City. The beneficiaries are mostly children in conflict with the law with ages from 12 to 18. The center serves as their sanctuary while awaiting judgment of their respective cases in court.
Social Worker Fulgencia T. Autida, the center head of Bahay Pag-Asa welcomed NCCC and Unilever with high spirits through a mini orientation program. “We are grateful for the opportunity to be chosen as the venue for this feeding program”, she quipped. She also added that it is quite a challenge to secure sponsorship for the center since they are dealing with offenders and not victims. Nevertheless, NCCC Cares has been a constant benefactor of the facility as it had just renewed its monthly food support which will continue until July of 2019.
Carl Loquias, account executive for Unilever Philippines is happy to be part of the event. “Unilever has always been supportive with initiatives that promote concern for the youth. Which is why we quickly responded to the invitation', he said.
Popular recipes such as chicken tinola, pork menudo and pancit bihon were cooked with Knorr Cubes while the special macaroni salad for dessert was prepared using Lady's Choice mayonnaise.
